Porto Santo – Restrictions May be Eased Before Easter

While celebrating the 108th anniversary of the Forestry Police Corps at Quinta Vigia, the President of Madeira took the opportunity to say that there is a possibility that the restrictions in place in Porto Santo may be eased before Easter.  Although making no hard promises he did say “We will see. I can’t say yes or no. It depends on the opinions of the health authorities and on the evolution of the virus.  However,” he said “Porto Santo is a small island, and any carelessness could negatively affect the people living there. ”

He went on to say that the situation is under review, and after careful analysis it may be possible that the mandatory curfew could be removed sooner rather than later. However, what he does not want, is a rerun of the Christmas and New Year situation.
