I had a pleasant arrival in Madeira, thanks to the good organization by the Madeira Health Authorities. On July 26th I landed with TUIfly on the island; this is not my first time as a visitor here. My concerns about starting a journey in “Corona Times” were all refuted. You get used to wearing the mask on the plane, the air was good and the seating is distributed so that you have enough distance from other passengers. It was not possible to take a Covid test in Germany in advance because I had no symptoms of an illness. I filled out a questionnaire online with all the important information about myself, my condition, and my arrival details at Madeira Airport, and sent it to Madeira Health Authorities. When I arrived in Madeira, everything worked very quickly because I was already registered. A blue line led to the test stations. A competent hostess helped me to quickly call up my registration number since I had not noted it down. Several test stations guaranteed swift sampling of the nose and throat. Everything was done under good hygienic conditions. After only 8 hours I received the result: Negative, of course !! I as 75 years old now; I experienced a lot and saw a lot in the world, but this organization at Madeira Airport is exemplary; Kudos to those responsible in Madeira! But the general requirement to wear a mask in public from 01.08. is, in my opinion, exaggerated. B. Wagner via info at madeira-weekly.com |
