We Believe in the Management

The Horarios do Funchal bus company continues to be beset by instability problems. However, Rui Barreto, the Regional Secretary for the Economy, considers that it is not the company's management that is causing instability within the company, but the unions themselves, as they either do not or will not understand the current situation. 

Earthquake off Porto Santo

According to the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea, a 2.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 02h57 this morning (17.09), off the north coast of Porto Santo at a depth of 10 km.

Due to its size, the earthquake would not have been felt. 

Madeira Needs to Be Recognised

A statement issued by PSD deputy Paulo Neves said that it is essential that the Portuguese National Strategy for Economic Recovery, which will be presented, in its final version on Wednesday the 16th of September, meets the criteria presented by the Regional Government and is not just a Continental Plan.” As such, it should be defended at all costs during its public presentation at the national parliament.

SIC Cetacean Programme Under Development

The Advisory Committee for the Monitoring of the Special SIC Cetaceans 7Whales7 Programme met recently for the first time, with the Regional Secretary for the Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, to begin the process of preparing the document that will create rules and competences for the new SIC Cetacean Programme.
