“Whenever you are playing or singing, keep one foot on the ground” that was the President of Madeira’s advice to aspiring musicians when he visited the GIG ‘Escola de Artes’ music school this week as the school prepared to resume their face-to-face classes.
Considered a ‘very important’ school in terms of arts and artistic education in the region, the president praised the work of the private music and artistic school. While talking to reporters, he said “I came here even to tell the parents and students, that they can come back to the school because they have implemented all the necessary social conditioning requirements to ensure that face-to-face classes can continue.”
Currently, the school has 120 students, some who are continuing with their online classes. Up until the lockdown the school had 400 pupils. The drop in students has caused the schools director, Bruno Freitas some concern, however, this is a situation, he says, which can be remedied with the resumption of physical classes.
