TAP Pilot Aborts Take-Off

The pilot of a TAP Airbus A320neo bound for Porto aborted its take-off at Madeira International Airport this morning following an instruction from the control tower.

The aircraft returned to the apron for checks. These may have been related to its engines, although this has not been confirmed.

Plane spotter João Capela, a plane spotter with the Madeira Aviation Spotting Group, advised the media of the incident.

The aircraft arrived from Porto at 08:11, operating flight TP1701, with its return departure scheduled for 08:45. At 10:00, it remained on the apron.

Meanwhile, adverse weather conditions in the region have forced some aircraft to go around on their first landing attempt.
