A South Korean national escaped injury on Wednesday afternoon after the vehicle he was driving crashed and overturned on the road near Lagoa do Fanal, on the Ribeira da Janela–Fanal route.
According to information gathered by DIÁRIO, the accident occurred when the rental car left the roadway and overturned. Initial indications suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
Despite the extensive damage sustained by the vehicle, the man did not require medical assistance or the intervention of firefighters.
Several passers-by stopped to help the driver, including members of the Nature Rangers, who were among the first to assist at the scene.
