Porto Santo Line’s reservation system is currently down after a fire broke out at IBM’s data centre in the Netherlands. The incident occurred in Almere, near Amsterdam, and is impacting several international companies that rely on the same tech services, including maritime operators like Virtu Ferries, Condor Ferries, and Herjólfur, alongside other organisations and services linked to IBM Cloud.
The Porto Santo Line guarantees, however, that the company’s operation remains assured, with ticket sales taking place in person at the counters and maritime terminals of Funchal and Porto Santo for same-day and next-day trips.
The carrier also says that it is monitoring the situation with the company responsible for the booking software and hopes that the service will be restored soon, and thanks passengers for their understanding.
