The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA) has issued a yellow weather warning for Madeira and Porto Santo, valid between 03:00 and 21:00 on the 5th of May (Tuesday).
The forecast points to periods of persistent rain, which may be heavy at times, especially in mountainous regions. Weather conditions will be similar on both the south and north coasts of the island, as well as for Porto Santo Island, with generally cloudy skies and precipitation.
The Civil Protection asks drivers to pay particular attention when travelling through exposed or vulnerable areas.
