ARM – Wooden Package Disposal Service

A Madeira Water and Waste (ARM) has created a free wooden package reception area at three of its facilities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable waste management and promotion of the circular economy in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

Deliveries can be made to the following locations: ETZL/ET – East Zone Transfer Station and Madeira Sorting Station, in the Porto Novo, Santa Cruz; ETZO – West Zone Transfer Station, in Meia Légua, Ribeira Brava, and CPRS – Porto Santo Solid Waste Processing Centre.

ARM This will now receive unpainted wooden pallets and contaminant-free wood (whole or broken) and fruit packaging boxes. All the material collected will be sent for recycling, contributing to the reduction of waste sent to landfill and increasing the recovery of materials, in line with regional and national environmental goals.

According to a press release, “this measure represents a simple, free and environmentally responsible solution, encouraging citizens and businesses to adopt more sustainable practices in the treatment of their waste.” ARM calls for “the collaboration of all so that, together, we continue to promote a cleaner, more efficient region committed to the future.”

“By facilitating the delivery of these packages and ensuring their correct routing, the company reinforces the essential role it plays in environmental protection and construction of a more sustainable Region, where every gesture counts for the preservation of natural resources,” stresses the company statement.
