The CR7 Museum administration confirmed that police are investigating the vandalism of Ronaldo’s statue that occurred yesterday. “The case is being dealt with by the PSP, who will follow the legal procedures to ensure that the incident does not go unpunished.” Finally adding, “We have nothing more to add about the incident.”
The incident drew attention after user ‘Zaino.tcc.filipe’ shared a video on social media that quickly went viral, showing him setting fire to the statue of the Portuguese international in front of the CR7 Museum.
Later, last night, the PSP confirmed that the young man in question had been apprehended in Santa Cruz and has been referred to the Psychiatry service of the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
The police thank the public for their essential contribution to the success of this operation. “The PSP extends its gratitude to all citizens who acted responsibly and swiftly to report the incident and share important information. This teamwork was key to quickly identifying and intercepting the individual, enabling an effective and proportionate response.”
