The cable car from Funchal to Monte is in modernization for the next three months. The cables will be replaced and the pylons reinforced, so that the current cabins can be replaced with larger versions. During this time, Monte Palace Madeira Garden has organized a shuttle service, maintained by the SIGA bus company, to bring clients from the cable car station (tickets at the dark blue tuk-tuk) up to Monte. The round trip cost is 5€ per adult, the cost including the garden entrance is 23€ per adult. More info at:
