In the early hours of the 18th, the Judicial Police arrested a woman and a man aged 24 and 29, respectively, for aggravated kidnapping, threats to physical integrity, illicit recordings and photographs, and aggravated threats, which occurred on the 17th, Funchal.
The crimes took place last Wednesday morning, and according to the PJ, five suspects ambushed the victim, a 25-year-old man. He was approached at his doorstep after being deceived by a female suspect who persuaded him to step outside. He was then kidnapped and forced into the back of a vehicle.
The victim was held captive for three hours, during which he endured relentless assaults, including punches, blows from an iron bar, and a baseball bat. He was then stripped naked and abandoned and defenceless, in a remote forested area near SĂŁo Roque do Faial.
The man also received death threats if he mentioned what had happened to him.
In total three suspects have been arrested, with the youngest being 19 years old. Two of them have a police record for drug trafficking, and one of them has already served a prison sentence. Jealousy is thought to have fuelled the attack.
The three detainees will be present tomorrow for the first judicial hearing.
