Eduardo is a Good Guy….

Eduardo Jesus is Miguel Albuquerque’s choice for the Parliamentary Affairs portfolio, an unusual choice, considering that last June, during the Budget debate in the Legislative Assembly of Madeirahe insulted three opposition deputies, a situation widely publicised and which even led to a movement calling for the resignation of the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Culture.

Eduardo Jesushas been awarded this role after Jorge Carvalho’s departure as Secretary.

In a statement, the President of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, categorically stated:

“No one doubts the political competence or the effectiveness of Dr. Eduardo Jesus.” He stated when questioned by reporters. He went on to guarantee that it was not for lack of an alternative that placed Eduardo Jesus in this position.  Neither does his use of inappropriate language to Socialist Party (PS), members SĂlvia Silva and Sancha Campanella, and the deputy of Juntos Pelo Povo, Rafael Nunes. “I don’t understand all their fuss, it’s just a vendetta to burn politicians,” said the leader of the Executive, maintaining that he doesn’t care who criticises him.

Eduardo Jesus has recently been in the news, where it was discovered that he had signed off on a 175,000 euros media agreement, which the Court of Auditors (TdC) said would actually amount to 11.2 million euros. This transaction was stopped by the TdC, as the campaign would have required the use of public funds.
