The next Marine Biology Station Open Night Funchal takes place tomorrow, Friday the 29th of August. The programme includes a guided tour and a lecture dedicated to echinoderms (sea urchins, starfish, and sea cucumbers).
The talk starts at 20:00 with a visit to the facilities of the Marine Biology Station, followed at 21:30 with a lecture ‘Echinoderms and their curiosities,’ presented by Luísa Costa, senior marine biology technician at the Funchal City Council.
Since 2021, more than 500 people have participated in this initiative, which takes place 3 times a year (July, August, and September).
The main objective of these events is to give the general public a chance to visit the Marine Biology Station and understand its work through guided tours.
Entry is free, but you must register your interest in the event by emailing: ebmf@funchal.pt.
