His candidacy “aims to mobilise all those who believe in the need for leadership closer to the people and in the promotion of capabilities and resilience of the Portuguese to build a more dynamic nation with a strong international presence. The candidate will reflect and use his experiences of having lived in Australia for thirty years.
The official announcement will be made on the 11th of July 11, at 18:00 on the rooftop of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Lisbon, in an event open to the media, where the guidelines of the project, the values that support it, and the main themes of his presidential candidacy will be presented.
In a statement, Raul Perestrello says:
“Portugal needs new approaches, new voices, and new energy to value itself and face the challenges of the present and the future. This candidacy is born from this appeal to value the country and the Portuguese.”
