EasyJet flight EZY3202, departing from Edinburgh, Scotland to Tenerife, was forced to make an emergency landing at Porto Santo airport, due to an incident on board with a passenger.
The plane landed on the runway in Porto Santo on Friday at 17:00, and the situation was resolved an hour later, with the flight resuming its initial route towards the Canary Islands at 18:00.
EasyJet has not officially clarified the cause of the unexpected stoppage, despite attempts to contact them for more information. However, according to a police source, the diversion was motivated by a health problem of a passenger, who is believed to have suffered an epileptic seizure during the flight. The situation was complicated by the fact that the passenger also appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, therefore, the PSP were requested to board the plane and maintain onboard safety.
According to the same source, the passenger’s medication was in the aircraft’s hold. Once the passenger had been administered his medication, the flight continued to Tenerife.
