The Pestana Hotel Group has announced that it has acquired the Quinta Perestrello Hotel, which closed at the beginning of the pandemic and has remained closed ever since.
“The property will be renovated and become part of a group of Madeiran quintas that have been converted into hotels. Although modernised, they have maintained their unique charm and a welcoming atmosphere,” stated a company spokesperson, who further stressed that this acquisition “is in line with the strategy it has been developing over the last few years of recovering heritage properties in prime locations.
The group aims to contribute to rehabilitating emblematic buildings, enhancing already existing heritage buildings, and the historical preservation of Funchal and Madeira.
