After all the ‘Who Hah!’ about 17,500 vaccines arriving on a TAP flight last night, it would appear that there has been an accountancy failure as only 11,500 arrived. This, said Martinha Garcia, Director of the Pharmacy Service at Hospital Central do Funchal, was expected as a further arrival of the missing 5,850 vaccines should arrive in two weeks’ time.
However, she said, this current consignment will allow the public and private sector health professionals to continue vaccinating, and that no one should worry as there are still vaccines available from the first batch!
Could this be a case of left and right hand not communicating with each other, or as some say a ploy that has backfired to make the general public feel safe!
