Miguel Albuquerque has said he is “almost certain” that bids will be submitted for the third phase of Madeira’s Central and University Hospital. The deadline for submitting proposals closes on the 13th of October.
Asked whether any bids had already been received, the President of the Regional Government did not confirm this, but expressed confidence that the tender would attract interest.
The international public tender has a base price of €415 million and covers general infrastructure, finishing works and technical installations at the future hospital. The tender notice was published in September.
The previous tender attracted no bids, despite a deadline extension. The base price was subsequently increased from €265 million to €415 million.
Any proposals received will need to be assessed after the deadline before a decision can be made on awarding the contract.
