Fish Consumption Survey

Madeira residents are being invited to participate in a study examining the population’s fish-consumption habits and its understanding of aquaculture and the use of fish by-products.

The research is being conducted through Aquafish0.0, a project in which ARDITI, the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation, is a partner.

The project aims to improve public awareness and acceptance of marine food products while promoting the reduction of waste and the recovery of resources that might otherwise be discarded.

As part of the study, people living in the Autonomous Region of Madeira who are aged 18 or over are being asked to complete an anonymous online questionnaire.

ARDITI said public participation is essential to obtain a representative picture of the different opinions and experiences found across the Region. Residents are also encouraged to share the survey with eligible relatives, friends and other contacts.

The information collected could help shape future research, public-awareness campaigns and communication initiatives regarding seafood, aquaculture and the more sustainable use of fish products.

Aquafish0.0 is funded through the Interreg Atlantic Area programme and brings together organisations from several Atlantic regions.
