According to the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA), the heavy rain warning for the south coast and the mountainous regions of Madeira has been raised to orange. The warning is in force between 06:00 and noon on December the 9th.
Then, between midday and 15:00, the warning will be downgraded to yellow. The forecast points to persistent precipitation, sometimes strong, and may be accompanied by thunderstorms.
The IPMA maintains the yellow warning for heavy rain on the north coast of Madeira, valid between 06:00 and 15:00 on December the 9th. The same warning applies to sea agitation, which has been in force from 15:00 today and will remain in force until midnight on the 10th of December. Waves can reach up to 4 to 4.5 metres in height.
These warnings are also applicable to Porto Santo.
