Candidate Cláudia Perestrelo has highlighted the need to enhance the government’s focus on agriculture, promoting the development of programmes to clear land and make it suitable for farming activities.
Among the measures highlighted are pest control, including the use of rodenticides as well as the use of biological herbicides to control invasive species.
The candidate further stressed that agriculture should no longer be treated as a lesser priority, advocating for the construction of irrigation tanks and systems to ensure a steady watering schedule that will boost crop yields, particularly during the summer months.
