A Madeiran woman assured DIÁRIO that, yesterday afternoon, she was prevented from parking in the Praia Formosa car park by a group of tourists.
According to the woman, the group of five stopped her from parking in a spot as they were saving it for a friend who wanted to park in the shade.
She went on to say that she asked the tourists to move, but they refused to threatening her by saying they would call the police, accusing her of attempting to intimidate them with her car.
After videoing the scene, the woman said that she ended up leaving the place, claiming that the situation was becoming “abusive.”
DIÁRIO chose to publish the video while editing the tourists’ faces out to protect their safety. Although you could see one woman standing by the car, telling the driver that she had been hurt.
By yesterday, the video had had two thousand views and over 400 shares.
Concluding, the woman said: “This island is no longer ours!”
Never a truer word said.
