Banana Museum

The Madeira Banana Museum received 36,634 visitors in 2024, demonstrating an increasing interest from tourists and residents alike. Portugal, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Poland, Denmark, and Hungary are among the main source markets.

The Secretary of Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, highlighted the great potential for growth of the infrastructure, which, in addition to valuing one of the most important agricultural productions in Madeira, offers visitors a unique experience that combines tradition, innovation, and banana product tasting.

Concluding, Nuno Maciel says:

“I think there is enormous growth potential here. This museum allows you to learn about the history of bananas, the cultivation process, and, of course, explore new flavours and sensations. I invite Madeirans and Porto Santo to visit the Banana Museum in Lugar de Baixo and discover an enriching experience.”
