There are sixty Portuguese and approximately 15,000 people currently registered with the Swiss assisted dying association Dignitas – Living with Dignity, Dying with Dignity.
The Swiss-based institution has confirmed to JM that three of the sixty Portuguese nationals are Madeiran.
Assisted suicide through Dignitas can cost more than €11,000.
