Tourists Jump Gate to Avoid Paying

Two tourists were filmed today jumping one of the access gates to the Botanical Garden, in Funchal.

According to a witness, the two women climbed the reserved gate by the exit to avoid paying the garden admission.

Then after jumping the gate they nonchalantly enjoyed the garden that other people had paid to see.

Hundreds of internet users regretted this attitude on the part of those who visit us and there were even those who criticised the lack of effort by the Security Police Public. Comments such as “if it were a resident they would already be arrested” and “they should pay a fine for being illegally entering the gardens.

When interviewed by reporters many local residents lamented that this was the type of tourist the island was now attracting.
