Bad Weather

The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA) has issued a yellow warning for the mountainous regions and the south coast of Madeira.

Heavy precipitation is expected in the mountainous regions from 06:00 to 12:00 tomorrow (Sunday). The yellow alert will remain all day on Monday due to southerly winds which could reach speeds of 95 km/h in the mountainous areas.

The south coast is also under a yellow warning, due to “sometimes heavy” rainfall, between 06:00 to 12:00 on Sunday.

On Monday, the south coast will not be so badly affected but gusts of up to 75 km/h, are expected particularly on the west.
