Applications for the Green Key Programme are now open, with the deadline for new applications ending on the 31st of January 2025 and application renewals up to the 28th of February 2025.
Those companies that receive the ‘Green Key’ award fulfill a demanding set of environmental requirements. These promote responsible and sustainable tourism, through the recognition of tourist enterprises, local accommodations, campsites, restaurants, and conference centres that exercise good environmental and social practices. Furthermore, all those gaining recognition within the Green Key programme show that they value environmental management in their establishments and promote Environmental Education for Sustainability.
The Green Key seal recognises the work that establishments develop within the scope of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), established by the UN.
These goals are:
No Poverty
Zero Hunger
Good Health and Well-being
Quality Education
Gender Equality
Clean Water and Sanitation
Affordable Clean Energy
Decent Work and Economic Growth
