The President of the Regional Government believes that the region’s firefighting strategy has been a “success.”
Speaking to JM, he considers that the opposition is “trying to find flaws” that do not exist, stressing that “fires cannot be put out on the internet.”
Concluding, he said:
“No one is dead or injured, although firefighters have been hospitalised due to exhaustion, and no homes have been destroyed, I think we are doing everything possible,” he concluded.
As an aside, the aerial means are proving effective over the central mountain range and are now assisting firefighters in Ponta do Sol.
