The Portuguese Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (SPAIC) has announced that the concentration of pollen in the atmosphere registers low to moderate risk values for allergic patients until the 20th of June.
In the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores, atmospheric pollen comes from eucalyptus, pine, and cypress trees (cryptomeria and chestnut in the Azores) and nettle grasses (including pellitory), nettle, plantain, and grasses, according to forecasts in the Pollen Bulletin for the week commencing the 14th of June.
“In the Azores Archipelago, the pollen concentration will reach up to a moderate risk, while in the Madeira Archipelago, the pollen concentration remains low.”
