Between the 1st and the 31st of May, the Portuguese Red Cross – Madeira Delegation (CVP), through its Local Emergency Structure, registered a total of 379 occurrences.
Reported situations are particularly related to “pre-hospital emergency services carried out in all municipalities of Madeira Island, followed by the transportation of patients transferred between hospital units and emergency and non-urgent patients.”
This entity further informs that, during this time CVP rescue teams attended 12 sports, social, and cultural events.
It should be noted that, between the 1st and 25th of May, the Local Emergency Structure (ELE) was involved in pre-hospital care for the extras and the general public who were present at the Flower Festival, including the Allegorical Parade.
The number of incidents/activities attended includes 12 social activities, 247 pre-hospital emergency services under the coordination of the Regional Command of Rescue Operations (CROS), and the transportation of 120 transports non-urgent patients.
The Portuguese Red Cross further highlights that a period of practical training is currently underway for new volunteers.
