Air Baltic has confirmed that from the 28th of October, they will operate a regular route between Riga, Latvia and Madeira.
In a statement, Thomas Ramdahl of airBaltic said:
“We are thrilled to announce this new route and to soon connect Madeira to the vibrant city of Riga – the home of airBaltic. We see great potential on this route and are delighted to offer local travellers the opportunity to visit and experience this jewel of the Baltics.”
Francisco Pita, CCO of ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal VINCI Airports, highlights the fact that this regular direct flight “reinforces Madeira’s position as a tourist destination throughout the year, being the result of the excellent work we have developed with all our partners to develop the region’s connectivity.”
On this route, three weekly flights will be operated, offering passengers two classes of service – Economy Class and Business Class. The first flight between the two cities is scheduled for the 28th of October 2024, and tickets are already available for purchase on the company’s website: www.airbaltic.com.
Flights between Madeira and Riga will be operated by Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
airBaltic operates more than 130 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and, seasonally, Gran Canaria, offering connections to a wide range of destinations on the airline’s route network in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region.
