Rui Mendes has been missing since yesterday after he left his home at the São Gonçalo Housing Complex and never returned.
A very close neighbour of ‘Nando’s’ family, known as such by many, said that he was last seen at 14:20 on Friday in the vicinity of the Montanha restaurant on Rua Conde Carvalhal.
When approached by a neighbour, he refused a lift saying he was going to Cancela to buy a Euromillions lottery ticket. But from then on, no one has heard from him. His phone is said to be switched on but no one is picking up their calls.
His family and friends are asking anyone with any information about his whereabouts to contact the Funchal Public Security Police.
Nando was last seen wearing black trousers and a blue jacket.
