The Institute of Health Administration, IP-RAM (IASAÚDE, IP-RAM) promoted a new health literacy awareness-raising campaign at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital today, to help citizens understand the need to adopt sensible practices when taking prescription drugs.
“Promoting, raising awareness about drug use, and encouraging the active participation of the community in health-related matters is imperative these days. This awareness-raising action aims, and as its name indicates, to raise awareness among users, and health professionals of the importance of making conscious and responsible decisions regarding the use of medicines as well as contributing to the Regional Health System sustainability.
When asked, some of those present stated that it had opened their eyes and they could see the importance of raising the population’s awareness of medicines and their usage, and the attractiveness and cost effectiveness of using generic brands.
IASAÚDE, IP-RAM feel positive about the campaign and as part of their initiative provided support material and associated merchandising.
This initiative takes place within the scope of the communication campaign “Reimbursement of Medicines – Health Literacy and Sustainability of the SRS” – a Regional Government health initiative.
