The Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure, Pedro Fino, who was today at the closing of the Cherry Festival in Jardim da Serra, which has been celebrated since 1954, addressed local producers, admitting that, unfortunately, the recent rains and storm have created difficulties.
Representing the President of the Regional Government, Pedro Fino guaranteed that the Executive is aware of the problems of farmers and, therefore, “there is already a Government technician, through the Regional Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development, assessing the damages.”
Even in a difficult year, where it was predicted that 70% of the 2023 harvest would be lost, the ‘Festival’ still carried on, and on behalf of the government, Pedro Fino thanked the Casa do Povo team and everyone involved, for all their effort and organisation in keeping local traditions alive.
