An 18-year-old Polish citizen, fell from a height of between 10 and 15 metres, while walking along the path that connects Prazeres to Paul do Mar, in Calheta yesterday evening.
According to JM, the Calheta Volunteer Firefighters received the alert at around 19:30. A 17-man rescue crew was immediately sent to the area, and the operation finally concluded at around 23:00.
Despite the considerable height of the fall, the young man was relatively unharmed and only complained of lower back pain.
He was quickly transported to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça hospital where he received medical assistance.
