Winter Mask Use is Advisory

The Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, Pedro Ramos has aired his concerns about the new respiratory syndrome that is severely impacting emergency services in the U.S.  The RSV or Respiratory Syncytial Virus, is mainly affecting children, but 50% and the number are rising of ICU beds in children’s wards are being used for children who are experiencing high fevers and breathing difficulties.

Although there have been no recorded cases in the region, Pedro Ramos believes that everyone should try to be careful this winter, and stay safe,  He went on to say that the wearing of masks would provide adequate protection not just against Covid-19, but respiratory diseases in general.

With regard to Covid-19 and flu vaccinations, he stressed that he wanted more people vaccinated so that this winter would be safer than those experienced over the past two years.
