“Bathing Waters” is a new application that will help monitor the region’s coastal waters. It can be downloaded by anyone, and it is possible for all citizens to use the app to identify a problem and upload an image. A technical team will then investigate the situation.
The application has just been presented by Susana Prada, the Regional Secretary for the Environment, Natural Resources, and Climate Change, at the auditorium of the Madeira Electricity Company where the ABACO Project – Improvement of the Quality of Bathing and Coastal Waters of Macaronesia is being held.
The objective of the project is to develop protocols and applications that lead to the improvement, preservation, valorisation, and promotion of bathing and coastal waters of the Macaronesia, for both nature conservation and tourism.
The application will serve as a bridge between citizens and the Regional Directorate of Spatial Planning and Environment.
