100 Hours of Astronomy

Astronomers of Madeira are promoting an astronomical observation event called “100 hours of astronomy” which will be held at Casa do Areeiro, Chão do Areeiro on the 1st of October.

The ‘100 hours of Astronomy’ is an initiative of the International Astronomical Union where, for 100 consecutive hours, between the 1st and 4th of October, various activities, which are open to the general public will be available at regional, national and international levels.

There are hundreds of experiences scheduled in different geographic areas of the planet, developed by both amateur and professional astronomers who are genuinely interested in science communication and want to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for space science.
