Free Entry to Madeira Aquarium on 27th of September

The Porto Moniz City Council will celebrate World Tourism Day tomorrow by providing free entry to the Madeira Aquarium, located in Porto Moniz.

Emanuel Câmara, Mayor of Porto Moniz, deems the Madeira Aquarium “as a unique infrastructure in the Region, which is why this campaign, promoted by the City Hall, comes in the form of an invitation to Madeiran families, and tourists in general, to travel to Porto Moniz, and enjoy the aquarium, the town of Porto Moniz, and the surrounding countryside as a way of celebrating natural beauty, and promoting and supporting the local economy.”

The Madeira Aquarium, owned by the Porto Moniz City Council, has more than 70 species of fish, most of them found in the regions coastal waters.  There are twelve tanks in total, with the largest holding approximately 500,000L of salt water.
