Portuguese Navy Rescue Fisherman

This morning, the Portuguese Navy rescued a 28-year-old crew member onboard a fishing vessel, Baia do Funchal, located 13 nautical miles (24 km), off the southwest coast of Funchal. 

According to a Naval statement, a distress call was received from the vessel’s captain at 9:54 am at the MRSC Funchal this morning, stating that a crew member had fallen and dislocated his shoulder. A rescue team was immediately dispatched. 

After docking at the Marina do Porto do Funchal, at 11:24 am, the injured man was immediately transported to hospital.
