Monkeypox: Portugal Reaches 100 Cases

The Directorate-General for Health (DGS), confirmed earlier this afternoon that four more Monkeypox cases have been confirmed in Portugal, bringing the total number of cases so far, to 100.

While the main site of infection is centred around the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo  area, cases have also been detected in the North and Algarve.  

All confirmed infections are in men between the ages of 20 and 61, with the majority being under 40 years old. The new cases were confirmed by the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA).
