With the confusion that is surrounding Madeira’s possible cryptocurrency ‘OSEAN,’ the President of Madeira has confirmed that “there is a lot of confusion. One thing is cryptocurrency, another thing is the study that we ordered, which is basically for an electronic means of payment, but whose currency will still be in euros.”
According to Miguel Albuquerque, this new digital payment will work like a payment card, which can be used to purchase goods and services throughout the region.
