According to JM, opening hours in Funchal’s Old Town are going to be amended.
The Funchal City Council has already confirmed that ‘night hours’ in the Old Town will end at 01:00 am on weekends, but has not yet confirmed when the new opening hours will come into force. Many residents are relieved at the decision, but are anxious that the new law comes into effect sooner rather than later. They have also requested a larger police presence, and that acceptable noise pollution levels are monitored and enforced.
