The two people who were found dead in a ravine and in the sea in Porto Santo, are a German couple aged 54 and 55 years-old. A police source revealed to local newspaper, JM, that the victims had been living on the island for approximately two years, and were rarely seen out and about. The incident has raised a number of questions especially as the authorities did not find any personal documentation either at the scene of the tragedy or at a hotel where they were living.
Investigations are, at this stage, being conducted by the Judiciary Police (PJ) and the Public Security Police (PSP), and an inquiry has been officially opened by the Public Ministry (MP), to ascertain the actual cause of their deaths.
