Covid-19: Authorities Monitor Outbreak on Navy Vessel

Pedro Ramos has confirmed that the regions Health Authorities will continue to monitor the evolution of the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak on the Corvette António Enes, currently moored in Porto Santo harbour.

Initial reports revealed that thirty crew members had been infected with the virus, and that it was possible to divide the ships crew into two definite areas, infected/not infected.  However, as cases increased, the number currently stands at forty-one, it was decided that all those infected should be transferred to a dedicated Porto Santo hotel where they can remain in isolation.

There are currently 55 people quarantined at the 28-room Ilha Dourada hotel.
