Late Saturday afternoon (08/01), several police officers were observed patrolling the Ribeiro Seco Bridge in Funchal. Ensuring that all pedestrians were kept away, the police officers were trying to identify the location of a body which was obscured by trees and vegetation.
As a suspected, a body of a 34-year-old man was recovered from the site by the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters (BVM), who had to call in a Mountain Rescue Team due to the difficulty of the terrain and surrounding area.
Our thoughts are with the victims friends and family.
