There was a surge of excitement as a Ryanair plane landed at Madeira International Airport – Cristiano Ronaldo this afternoon, in a move that is said to open a new chapter of aviation history in the Region.
However, not much has been divulged about the meeting, especially as the six Ryanair delegates left without talking to the media a couple of hours later. What is known, is that the airline will start flying regularly to the island as of next summer.
Unfortunately, no one from the airport administration or the Regional Government was available to comment on the situation. But, a press conference will be held tomorrow to discuss Ryanair’s commitment to Madeira, and other matters relating to the development of routes to and from the region.
