Talking to reporters this morning, the President of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque said that ‘For now, Christmas is still not at risk, due to the sudden increase in Covid-19 cases in recent days.’
However, he said “we are monitoring the situation, but this is very complicated, because it results from the progressive relaxation of restrictive measures. The end of the year celebrations will take place, but the Market Night is still under review, as it will all depend on how the pandemic situation evolves.”
Concluding, the President said, “the pandemic is not over. These cases that we had are an expected rise, but at this moment we have to be careful.”
