The Regional Directorate of Health has issued a statement on social media platforms, saying that Madeira is currently affected by a North African dust plume.
As such they advise the following precautions: –
“The Regional Health Authority, recommends that all those with chronic respiratory diseases stay indoors, and keep the windows and doors closed. People should also avoid going out during the hottest hours of the day; avoid physical exercise; wear a mask when working outdoors; stay hydrated; comply with prescribed medication including rapid relief measures, if necessary.
